GNU Gama Resource Site

Introduction
GNU Gama is a robust least square program for adjusting 1D, 2D and 3D survey observations. Gama is simply run as command line program or via the companion Graphical User Interface (GUI) called Rocinante. The source code is available for the stable and development versions at the links below. However, some users may find it too difficult to compile the source code. Therefore, a compiled development version is presented below in order to help members start using Gama/Rocinante quickly.

What is Gama? Quick Overview

Compiled Version Programs for Windows Platform

GNU Gama (version 1.9.05) Note: this version accepts direction/angle input in sexagesimal degree format and network parameter to update constrained coordinates.
GNU Gama User Documentation (version 1.9.03)

Expat (version 1.1)

Rocinante Note: this version does not yet support direction/angle input in sexagesimal degree format and network parameter to update constrained coordinates. An updated version of Rocinante executable will be posted here when available. Suggest modifying sample input file in text editor and then running Gama from command line until Rocinante GUI supports degree input.

Sample 1D and 2D Networks

* 2D Legal Survey Sample - Conventional distance/direction observations and autonomous GPS coordinates see horizontal network diagram

* 1D Differential Levels Sample - see vertical network diagram
